For anyone who doubted Joshua Powell left a cushy job as Union County Schools superintendent to become superintendent of Montgomery County Schools for any reason other than to save face?
Here’s your proof.
First flash back to review his contract in Montgomery County.
Now look at the contract he had in Union County, which we obtained via open records request:

As you can see, not much different. Just a $10,000 pay bump… which doesn’t much matter when going from $130,000 to $140,000.
It’s another indication that the folks in Union County caught on to what was occurring with Powell and he needed an out.
